The Honourable Audrey Boctor

Justice Audrey Boctor holds degrees in civil law and common law from McGill University's Faculty of Law, as well as a bachelor's degree in French and political science from Western University. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2006 and to the Barreau du Québec in 2010.

Justice Boctor began her career as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada to the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, then Chief Justice of Canada. She went on to work in New York, where she taught and practised law, before joining the firm IMK in Montréal, where she became a partner in 2016. She was involved in numerous high-profile cases and appeared before courts at every level, including on several occasions before the Supreme Court of Canada. Alongside her practice, she taught civil procedure at the Université de Montréal and McGill University and gave lectures across the country.

A former president of the Quebec Branch of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), Justice Boctor served on the national board of the CBA and the board of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, she was considered a leading litigator by major legal directories and named one of Canada's 25 most influential lawyers. Her work also earned her the Ally Award from the CBA's Sexual and Gender Diversity Alliance (SAGDA), as well as the Prix Jules-Deschênes.

Justice Boctor was appointed to the Superior Court in 2024 and to the Court of Appeal in 2026.
