All appeals on the merits will now be heard in person. Attendance at hearings by technological means will continue to be possible on written request addressed to the Court office to the attention of the presiding member of the panel hearing the appeal.
In addition, for the hearing of applications, the Court will offer litigants the choice of appearing in person in Court or participating by videoconference. When an application is placed on roll, the Court office will send the parties or their counsel, as the case may be, a notice of hearing containing all the necessary information for the hearing. On receipt of the notice of hearing, a litigant must inform the Court office whether they wish to appear in person in Court for the hearing of the application or participate by videoconference, failing which it will be understood that the litigant will be present in Court.
