Court of Appeal of Quebec

Holiday Hours for the Office of the Court of Appeal

On December 22, 25, 26 and 29, 2023, as well as on January 1 and 2, 2024, the office of the Court of Appeal will be closed, as these are non-work days for purposes of the collective agreements currently in force at the Ministère de la Justice. December 22 and 29, 2023, however, are not legal holidays, such that, on these two days, it will be possible to file pleadings despite the Court office being closed.

For the Court of Appeal’s seat in Montreal, parties or their counsel may file pleadings intended for the Court at the following location:

  • Montreal Courthouse
    1 Notre-Dame Street East
    Civil Court office, Room 1.122

For the Court’s seat in Quebec City, parties or their counsel should contact the Court office at 418-649-3401. If necessary, a staff member will arrange to be present for the filing of the pleading.

The office of the Court of Appeal will therefore be open until December 21, 2023, inclusively, as well as on December 27 and 28, 2023. Regular hours will resume as of January 3, 2024.

In addition, we remind you that it is possible to file originating appellate pleadings in civil, criminal, extradition and penal matters by means of the Digital Office of the Court of Appeal (DOCA).
