Today, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, the Honourable David Lametti, announced the appointment of the Honourable Lori Renée Weitzman as a puisne judge of the Court of Appeal of Quebec.

Justice Weitzman, who was called to the Quebec Bar in 1987, practised criminal law for over two decades before her appointment to the Criminal and Penal Division of the Court of Québec in 2010, where she sat until her appointment to the Court of Appeal. Throughout her impressive career, she has been steadfastly committed to training students, lawyers and judges.

All the justices of the Court are delighted by this high-calibre appointment and wish Justice Weitzman the warmest of welcomes among them.
