Justice Marie-France Bich is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Université de Montréal (LL.L. 1977) and of Harvard Law School (LL.M. 1980). As a member of the Quebec Bar from 1978 to 2004, Justice Bich first joined a private law firm in Montreal and then, in 1983, became a full-time professor at the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal. Throughout her academic career, she also acted as a grievance arbitrator.
Justice Bich was appointed to the Court of Appeal in September 2004.
